Camera Holster

I have been using the 1-Second Camera Holster (Smaller size, made for Mirrorless cameras) for about 10 days now.  Mainly with my Leica M-10 and the Leica Q.

This holster is a well designed product. The Tuscan leather feels great. The magnets work well and it fits nicely around my Leica equipment. The 1-Second Camera Holster is a really cool solution for the minimalistic street photographer. Attach the holster to your belt and use a long camera strap, to get the most out of this little guy.

It’s called the 1-Second Camera holster because all you have to do is pull on the strap and bring the camera to your eye. Since the bag closes with magnets, pulling the strap to remove the camera is super easy. It feels very natural.

With this camera Holster, you get protection and a place to put your camera when not shooting. Also, it gives you fast access to your camera.

PROS: I really enjoyed the magnetic flap. It helps keep things inside without having to worry about them flying out while you walk around. It also allows you to open the holster and pull the camera out easily. The magnets clasp strong enough to not worry about them opening by accident.

CONS: The holster itself is almost too tight. It fits around my cameras very snug. I also found that the holster could be a tad sturdier. Sometimes it feels like a glove (loose and flimsy with a leather finish).

Overall, I found the 1 Second Camera Holster to be a great product. I do see myself using it in the future. It is very useful when walking around with your camera. It feels very comfortable and frees up a lot of different movement options. Especially when attached to your belt and your camera being  on a long (over the shoulder) camera strap.

Sony A9 Review by Caesar Lima

Models in Motion.

A Sony A9 Camera Review by Caesar Lima. I was very honored when Sony asked me to test the new A9. They sent me a body and a 85mm f1.4 lens for 2 weeks, and said “have fun with it”. On the first day I shot the kids jumping in the pool and playing beach soccer. Bursting 20 fps it was like shooting a movie, at max shutter speed 1/32000 sec you can freeze any movement. I then started to plan how I could take advantage of the speed and auto-focus system of this camera in my field of photography.

There was a lot of talk about how good the A9 is for shooting sports, so I had an idea of doing a fashion shoot and adding movement. I was very impressed especially when it came to speed and autofocus tracking. I made a “studio” set up using available light. I wanted to catch the models jumping and cat walking. I invited well-known wardrobe stylist Jessica Boal, and she brought lots of dresses. Amazing stuff! I picked 2 great models from Two Management. Sloan Smith and Daisy Davies. Sloan has a dancing background and Daisy does fashion shows, and catwalks extremely well.

Always shooting wide open @ f1.4 I was able to capture 12+ images on each jump. Each milliseconds a part, where I then could choose the best looking shot. When you’re shooting action the frame rate is important but also the autofocus speed and accuracy, because it uses an electronic shutter the A9’s 20 fps outpaces its dSLR competitors. The auto tracking focus is outstanding\ when I shot Daisy running aside of the pool I kept walking backwards and falling her and the auto tracking kept her face in focus on all the shots.

PROS: super bright EVF auto track focus 20fps speed

CONS: too small (in my opinion) needs a grip noise on high ISO missing a shutter speed and a ISO dial

2017 Best Of The Best Photographers Book

Super excited to have the Yolk series in the
2017 Best Of The Best Photographers Book
The Yolk project is about visually recording singularity. The series attempts to portray the hypothesis that the invention of artificial superintelligence could result in unfathomable changes to human civilization. To create the series, I collaborated with CGI artist Nino Razo. Together we brainstormed about the way to visually portray what this could look like, and that’s howthe Yolk series came to be.

Riviera Prive Beirut - Promoting (Sunglasses) A Beach Resort

At first glance we thought this was a campaign for sunglasses, but no. This campaign of massive vinyl stickers hit the bathrooms of Beirut’s trendy spots to draw attention to Riviera Privé. It is an exclusive beach, pool and bar and lounge area in one of Lebanon’s most famous hotels, the Riviera Hotel. Riviera is located right in Beirut city, facing the Mediterranean. The hotel has been a favorite destination of jet-setters since 1956. The Riviera Privé area has seen several reiterations of glamour and luxury, as has the hotel itself, but it is definitely the place for beach-loving locals who want to see and be seen. The sticker campaign created by République Beirut plays cleverly on this theme by implying reflective sunglasses and evoking the sense of being watched. via coolhunter
