Rudy Fig

Say hello to Rudy Fig, a 19-year-old Minneapolis based emerging painter. Fig sent us her “doll faced babes in macabre, whimsical worlds with a lot of ice cream” and we left her Flickr stream craving sweets, and more of her delicious work.
Where does the inspiration for all this sugary Pop Surrealism meets psychological purging come from? “My parents were toy designers which has had an impact on my work,” Fig told Juxtapoz. Yeah, growing up surrounded by toy parts and designs may have a slight impact on one’s artistic outlook.
Her new website won’t be launched until the end of the month but until then, you can peep some of her "in progress" paintings that she’s been working on for a show in August on Flickr and her MySpace. Grab a spoon and dig in. It’s tasty, we promise.
