Pixelpasta on MacDirectory

MacDirectory Magazine Interview
Caesar Lima > Creating a New Reality
Caesar Lima is a world-renowned photographer with a reputation for constantly keeping his audiences on their toes with his innovative, unique photographic concepts. Talented, driven, and always looking for new and better ways to get his message across, Lima has proven himself more than able to move seamlessly from one style of photography to another while still, and always, maintaining his edge.

Lima credits his success to a variety of factors, including constantly studying his art, keeping his mind open, and, perhaps most of all, not letting himself be intimidated by new ways of doing things. It was in the spirit of the latter, in fact, that Lima, never one to rest on his laurels, launched a new area of business. It's called Pixelpasta and is a seamless blending of photographic magic and digitalization. Viewing the portfolio online at caesarlima.com I found myself wondering how much, if any, of the photographs were digital - an effect, Lima told MacDirectory during a recent interview, that is as intentional as it is artistic.

Images & Mobile Apps

Perhaps one of the most overlooked opportunities for mobile apps is in the area of photography. While many apps take advantage of the medium to share images and allow their customers or fans to do the same, photographers may shy away from the mobile app simply because they don’t feel it will present their work well. With the debut of the iPad and the new HD iPhone 4, it’s time to revisit these ideas and see just what a mobile app can do with photographs.

While there are many Mobile Roadie apps that utilize photo collections generated by their users, there are also a few that generate photos as part of their product, which makes an app’s ability to showcase pictures even more important. Let’s take a look at a few of these apps and how the use the Mobile Roadie CMS along with their app to promote their work.

Caesar Lima Photography utilizes a mobile app to showcase their work and bring in new customers. For them, the app is all about the pictures, along with the customer interaction. With this app, the company’s customers can stay up to date on advertising photography, video and design. Not only does the app feature Caesar Lima’s portfolio, it also has Pixelpasta news and updates, behind the scenes video and a fan wall to leave feedback and interact with other customers. As you can see from the screenshot, the pictures are highlighted very well within this app.

Cat Woman - making of

Catwoman has been featured as an antihero rather than a supervillain, this character has been one of Batman's most enduring love interests. Batman's creator, Bob Kane, was a great movie fan and his love for film provided the impetus for several Batman characters, among them, Catwoman. She was primarily inspired by Hedy Lamarr and partially inspired by 1930's film star Jean Harlow who at Kane's then-early and "impressionable age... seemed to personify feminine pulchritude at its most sensuous." Wanting to give his Batman comic books sex appeal and someone who could appeal to female readers as a female Batman, Kane and writer Bill Finger created a "friendly foe who committed crimes but was also a romantic interest in Batman's rather sterile life." She was meant to be a love interest and to engage Batman in a chess game with him trying to reform her. At the same time, this character was meant to be different from other Batman villains like the Joker in that she was never a killer or evil.

Wonderful Machine Blog: Caesar Lima

Wonderful Machine Blog: Caesar Lima | No More Mr. Nice Girl

T-Mobile recently decided it was time to give their brand, along with their well-known mascot Carly Foulkes, a refresh. The company wanted customers to “take a second look” at the brand and decided to add some edge to their new campaign. To do so, they called in Publicis Seattle who in turn, brought in photographer Caesar Lima to help bring their vision to life. Caesar—who describes his photography style as unique and dramatic—was the perfect shooter to bring out more of Carly’s edge. So, after some back and forth and some help from Wonderful Machine producer Craig Oppenheimer, Caesar and Publicis came to a deal. Soon after the estimates were approved, everyone got to work helping Carly ditch the good girl pink dresses in favor of a jet-black Ducati. The new slogan?

Mobile marketing for photographers

Caesar Lima's Interview to Photo District News
“I love technology,” exclaims advertising photographer Caesar Lima. “It’s amazing what you can do these days. “Whether I’m creating an image or promoting it, anything and everything is possible.” Lima says that when the iPhone first came out, he and his staff designed an iPhone Web site so that viewers could see the same content from his regular site but formatted specifically for a phone screen (as well as to accommodate for horizontal and vertical phone positions).

Atleta

Athlete Photography by Caesar Lima

They make us happy, proud and sad. We know their names and life stories. They break the records and set the new ones. We follow their every move, we cherish any chance to get close to them. They persuade us to buy the famous brands, we listen to them. They are rich and glamourous, we want to be like them. There are very few people on Earth who have reached the status of modern gods. The worldwide media made them the focal point of nearly six billion human souls, who love and worship them. They wield an enormous power over the admiring masses and precious few of them use this power to make a difference in the lives of others.

Caesar Lima, a renowned photographer, began the ATLETA project in order to explore the glamour of professional sports. ATLETA spans the globe seeking out the few sport heroes who speak the universal language of compassion.

Caesar Lima on Paranoias

Caesar Lima on Paranoias
Paranoias is an online magazine of information and media covering a variety of technical and artistic areas from photography to advertising, design and several more. The paranoias.org existed for some years but have never had an identity defined until this moment. The articles posted here are handpicked from the best sources of the various topics on the Internet. There is no relationship (so far) of content with the name Paranoias, but it is certainly a word easier to remember.
